Documentary Filmmaker. Storyteller. Film Development tutor
Klára Trencsényi is a freelance director and cinematographer working on creative and social documentaries and visual anthropology projects. She has been a professor of practice at the Central European University and a tutor at international documentary filmmaking courses / participatory workshops for several years.
Prior to her first award-winning feature-length documentary Train to Adulthood, she directed several medium-length and short films. Her second arthouse feature film, The Missing Tale, was released in 2022. Her work as a director/cinematographer has screened at festivals around the world and won prestigious awards.
Her research interests include the intersections of personal, collective and historical memory in documentary, archival practices, film essays and participatory filmmaking.
